Is there a dress code for the Reception?
Attire for our wedding reception is Black Tie Optional.
Is there an alternative to The Willow Lodge?
We booked two cottage homes in Wachesaw Plantation that we no longer need. If you are interested in taking the reservation, please reach out!
Hotels or Rentals located in Surfside Beach, Garden City Beach or Murrells Inlet should all be within 30-35 minutes of Saint Michael and Wachesaw Plantation.
What is the anticipated drive time between each location?
Willow Lodge is approximately 12 minutes from Saint Michael Catholic Church and 8 minutes from Wachesaw Plantation.
What is the typical temperature in early February?
The temperature typically ranges from 50-60 during the day and will drop to 40 at night. The sun sets just before 6pm on Saturday.
Cocktail Hour will be located on the back deck of Wachesaw Plantation overlooking the Waccamaw River. We will provide heaters, but we recommend a light jacket or wrap. The back deck will remain open throughout the reception with the fire pits on. In the event of rain, cocktail hour will be moved inside to the reception venue.
Can I bring a Plus One?
We kindly ask that the reception be exclusive to only the named guests who received formal invitations.
Are kids invited?
Our friends and family are welcome to bring their children to our wedding ceremony. We kindly ask that the reception be exclusive to only the young ladies & gentlemen who received formal invitations.
For our out of town guests, if childcare is needed, please reach out! We’d be happy to connect you with a reliable babysitter (friend of Madison) that is available.
How long is a Catholic Wedding ceremony?
Our wedding ceremony is a full Catholic mass and will last approximately 1 hr and 15 minutes.
What are some things to do between the ceremony and cocktail hour?
Our wedding ceremony will end around 1:45pm and cocktail hour will commence at 5pm. The Murrells Inlet Marshwalk is located 3-4 minutes from Willow Lodge and has a string of various restaurants, pubs and breathtaking views of the marsh.
Can I play Golf at any particular course?
There are several public golf courses within 15-20 minutes of Willow Lodge. A few alternative suggestions are Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach and Caledonia Golf Club
